About 5 years ago I finally bought my very first bow. It was a starter bow, a 35 lb. Samick.  I had no background in archery, but had craved the idea of shooting a traditional bow for most of my life - I just never got around to doing anything about it until then.  I shot that bow just about every day. I set up an archery range in my (unusually long) basement and would take a few shots between each load of laundry averaging upwards to 85 shots per day. Then, in October of 2014, I was granted the incredible opportunity of participating in a ladies only mentored hunt with Colorado Mule Deer Association.  This was my first mentored hunt ever.  This was also my first archery hunt, so I brought my little starter bow with me and off I went on the 4-day hunt.

I could shoot my starter bow well, and I thought it was comfortable and even fast, but something happened during that hunt.  During the target shooting session, I was asked if I would like to try out another bow, just for fun. The bow, a " High Country Stalker " by Two Feathers LLC, was left handed, as am I, and the weight was right for me, so I gave it a try.  Little did I know that it would forever change me!

From the moment it was placed in my hand, I could feel the difference. Like getting out of a Volkswagen Bug and sitting into the plush, conforming seat of a Ferrari - the grip seemed to wrap around my hand and become 'one' with my body. The riser was solid and form fitting in my hand.  The limbs had a whole new strength not to mention an intense beauty from the glow of the natural wood grain.  When I pulled back on the bowstring and let the arrow fly, the speed was beyond my comprehension while the bulls-eye was struck, repeatedly.

Needless to say, I was unexpectedly, and suddenly in love.  I had to own this bow and so I had my very first custom bow made to my specifications by the end of that same year. My Two Feathers bow is a part of me - I am able to shoot it effortlessly, and hit my target like a pro. I have a new level of confidence now, and know that I have been dealt a very special card this time in my life.  I look forward to hunting everything with this bow, from wild turkey, to deer, elk and even bear and I am grateful beyond words to the one who let me try out that "High Country Stalkerbow back in October of 2014.
